Mühlbach am Hochkönig lies in the State of Salzburg and is easily reached by car:
When you approaching over "Saalfelden" in the winter, winter clothing and possibly snow chains are required!
From Germany:
Drive on the Munich-Salzburg highway to the Inzell exit, then through Lofer to Saalfelden. There take a left to Maria Alm and continue to Dienten and Mühlbach.
With this variation you do not use the Austrian highway and therefore do not need a highway permit sticker!
From Vienna:
